The Standard’s new flexible policy dating at delivery is now available in four more states
On April 29, 2008, The Standard announced flexible policy dating at delivery is available in many states. Customers in these states have the option of electing the effective date of their individual disability insurance coverage at the time of policy delivery. Customers can choose a policy effective date between the date of application and the date they accept coverage. In addition, if customers in those states incur an age change before they apply for coverage, they may elect a policy effective date up to 30 days before the date of their applications to save age.
Florida, Hawaii, Ohio and Virginia
We are pleased to announce that Florida, Hawaii, Ohio and Virginia have approved flexible policy dating. If you sell IDI in these four states you must use the new application packet(s) within thirty days of this announcement. For transition rules and other information, please see the original announcement on the IDI producer website home page.
